Understanding Indian Bangle Sizes
Indian bangle sizes are represented by numbers like 2.4, 2.6, 2.8, and 2.10. These numbers represent the inner diameter of the bangle in inches and fractions. For example, a size 2.4 bangle has an inner diameter of 2 and 4/16th inches (which simplifies to 2.25 inches). Getting this measurement right is crucial for a comfortable fit.
Method 1: Measure an Existing Bangle
If you already own a bangle that fits you perfectly:
- Place the bangle flat on a ruler.
- Measure the exact distance across the inside circle (diameter) in inches.
- Match the diameter to the sizes: 2.25" is size 2.4, 2.375" is size 2.6, 2.5" is size 2.8, and 2.625" is size 2.10.
Method 2: Measure Your Hand
Bring your thumb and pinky finger together as if you are sliding a bangle on. Take a strip of paper or string, wrap it around the widest part of your hand (the knuckles), and mark the length.
